The White Cottage
Located at 2 Atlantic Terrace, The White Cottage was built in 1891, and was designed by Stephen Decatur Button. It is one of the famous "Seven Sisters" of Cape May - seven identical Italian-Renaissance-style cottages built, as the legend goes, for the seven beloved daughters of a wealthy Cape May builder.
The White Cottage has four levels - a Ground-Level Apartment, and three floors. The building has three terraces, and each have ocean views. The entrance was placed in the center, leading guests into a large foyer with a hand-carved spiral staircase winding up to the top floor. The White Cottage is available for rentals year round through our Central Reservations Office. From Sept - June the White Cottage can be rented as 3 separate units or as a whole house. From the last week of June through the first week of September the White Cottage must be booked as a whole house Saturday to Saturday either with or without the basement. Please call for details as this policy could change based on availability.
Minimum Stay Requirements
Summer - 7 night minimum, Saturday to Saturday
Off Season - 2 nights w/ Saturday
Beach Service - Guests can use the Virginia Hotel's Beach Service.
Check-in/Check-out - Guests can check in at the Virginia, year-round.
The First Floor - features a private balcony, a large kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a breakfast bar, and a dining room table with a table that can seat up to 12 people. The Living room features antique black wicker and a pullout sofa sleeper, as well as a writing desk, stereo system with flat screen TV, and a fireplace that burns Dura flame logs only.
The Second Floor - contains three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed, a private bathroom with an antique tub and large enclosed glass shower, and a private balcony with an ocean view. The second bedroom has two twin beds and the third has a queen bed. There is another bathroom in the hallway with a shower/tub combo. There are no TV's in the bedrooms.
The Third Floor - features a terrace with a dramatic floor-to-ceiling view of the Atlantic Ocean. The living room includes a pullout sofa, a granite-topped wet bar, icemakers, two-mini-refrigerators, a microwave, a dishwasher and a dining room table. There is not a stove. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with a queen. There is a TV in each bedroom and one in the living room. There is a bathroom with a glass-enclosed shower and claw-foot tub.
The Garden-Level Apartment - has a full kitchen with a stove, microwave, toaster oven, coffee maker, fridge, dishwasher, sink, and washer/dryer. There are two bedrooms - one with a queen bed, and the other with bunk beds. There is one bathroom with shower only and one TV in the living room. Accommodates 6.
Amenities include - TVs and VCR/DVD players, 210-thread-count Belgian cotton pressed linens, Bulgari bathroom amenities, an outside grill, the Virginia Hotel Beach Service, and one on-site parking spot.
